Periodic Fable

I’ve been a bit busy preparing for Christmas and overcoming a nasty cold (nothing else according to my tests!). So I’ve missed a few prompts.  They are:

It’s very stormy today. Yesterday, Christmas Day, was very windy, and I could see the dog walkers and the runners trying not to get blown away. Today it’s not only windy but there is heavy rain, and it is even more difficult to walk outside.

Everyone in the house is waking up heavy-eyed, having been kept awake by the howling and whistling. I’m more concerned about whether recent roof renovations were done well enough to plug the persistent leaks…

A storm can be a lot of fun to watch from the safety of a warm house through a well-insulated window, but this one isn’t even that interesting :( It’s just keeping us cooped up away from a much needed walk and some fresh air – it’s just a bit too fresh even if I got out my most weather proof gear.

So I think it’s time for cheese and games, tea and coffee, stories and music, and later, perhaps, some mulled wine and gin toddies.
