December Dailies writing prompts. #16 Gifts
One of the main features of Christmas is Christmas gifts. But quite apart from the physical, wrapped up boxes and items, Christmas offers many gifts to me, including:
- the gift of time, with time off work to recharge
- the gift of rest (see above)
- a time to celebrate the gift of family and a good excuse to see them
- gifts of opportunities to sing and dance and celebrate with friends.
In 2020 – and, it looks possible – in 2021 – these opportunities were curtailed by the pandemic. So what time we had together was very special. In fact, I could live without the actual presents. I now appreciate the gift of being able to see family and friends.
