Pantone colour of the year 2013
So the Pantone colour for this year, 2013 is EMERALD – I have to say – NOT one of my favourite colours. However, their colour of the year doesn’t necessarily reflect the colours for fashion… and the palette for spring 2013 includes Monaco blue which I love and which is always in my palette!
I love it when “my” colours are fashionable. All last year (2012) turquoise was fashionable, and I wanted to buy and buy because my summer colours are navy, blue (very much the Monaco blue below), turquoise, aqua and purple.
The reasons I have the same colours are:
- I know what colours suit me (I’m strongly a winter colour, although summer colours also suit me)
- If I stick to a palette of complementary colours then there is more chance of matching items in my wardrobe
- I can go into shops and immediately rule out whole racks of clothes (green, yellow, brown…) and head for colours I won’t regret
Pantone’s top colours for spring 2013
Pantone Colour of the Year 2011 was Honeysuckle Pink, and I loved the one for 2010.
