Inventors come in all sizes!

The youngest ever patent holder is reported today on the BBC website. Sam Houghton, of Buxton, Derbyshire, was just three when he watched his Dad sweeping up debris in the garden and using two brooms. Sam then came up with a double-headed broom to collect large debris and fine dust simultaneously.

What a great way to encourage children to be entrepreneurial, creative and inventive! Of course Sam’s Dad is a patent lawyer so it’s not surprising that he knew what to do.
