Facebook for Enterprise

worklight has announced a secure enterprise overlay for facebook, allowing workers to use all the social networking tools of facebook, whilst keeping sensitive company information behind a firewall. The blurb states that employees can freely use Facebook, with the WorkBook overlay, with no danger of information leaking outside the organization or access being granted to unauthorized personnel. With so many organisations worried about the use of Facebook in office hours in the UK, and with many of the educational organisations we work with, banning access to Facebook for both students and staff, I wonder whether this “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” approach will catch on?
