HiMyTribe social locator iPhone App
HiMyTribe is a new iPhone App that aims to counter the loneliness people may feel in a big city. It allows you to find nearby people who share your interests and alerts you to connect you. Created by French social networking developer Never Alone Anymore , the app uses GPS technology linked with social networking to form “tribes” of like-minded individuals for social or business connections. The user sets up their own “tribes” or groups of people with similar interests that they want to meet or stay in contact with. For someone who’s moved to a new city, perhaps, it might be a way to find others interested in skydiving or Thai food. The app will do a quick search of other HiMyTribe members with those interests in your town or city, and alerts you so you can invite them to join your tribe. If they accept, you can find their location via GPS.
