Writing prompts, creative prompts, art prompts and creative challenges
I often find myself with a spare ten, twenty, thirty minutes and want to get down to some writing, but it takes me all my time to think of a subject. I once created a whole blog full of writing prompts, but it seems to have disappeared into the ether, in the way of old websites, and I was foolish enough not to keep a copy. So – for my own benefit and maybe for anyone else who comes across it, I will create prompts for every day, or link to other projects with prompts.
I love a limited challenge like NaNoRiMo (the writing month which I’ve never managed to keep up…) or the January Challenge from 64 Million Artists.
I also like to create community mosaics which bring together writing on a theme from adults, children, writers, people who’ve never written before! A current example is the Cullercoats Sunrise Mosaic which invites contributions on the theme of sunrise, especially at Cullercoats Bay in the North East of England.
