Pink sympathy

A sympathy card, with Zendoodling, and Watercolour pen and lovely Catherine Pooler ink (Uniko Sentiment). Unfortunately I regularly need a sympathy card 🙁

Entered in Just Add Ink #398…”Colour”

and as it’s one-layer, also in CAS on Friday’s Challenge #127 – One layer wonder

So sorry to hear
Petals fall as you stand still
Reflecting your grief

Zendoodle cat and teapot

Two cards today. The first one is a zendoodled cat. Dedicated to Millie, my daughter’s new black and white cat!

This is for

CASOLOGY 288 – Pun (I love all the examples, and the contributors’ clever takes. I love a good punny card!)

and Addicted to CAS 130 – CAT

Then there’s my next zendoodle: a teapot. I know there tend to be more coffee challenges than tea ones, but I did a coffee pot not long ago. So my response to the pretty picture at The Card Concept is a teapot… inspired by the black and white and watercoloured with peach of course (peach watercolour pen this time). Such a pretty colour!

This is my Clean and Simple card for The Card Concept #87 {Freshly Brewed}

and also entered at Seize the Birthday’s Coffee or Tea!  challenge.

The haiku:

When my world seems just
black and white, you fill it with
colour and meaning 🙂

Lightbulb moment

Another masculine card for a colleague, returning to zendoodling. We’re all geeks at work, so it can be a bit of a challenge! (There may be more zendoodling to come…)  It’s a modern lightbulb. By the time I’d finished zendoodling I wasn’t sure anyone would be able still to see what it is, but plenty of people said “Oh, it’s a lightbulb” so it’s not too bad!

I’m going to enter this one into Cards4Guys Challenge #188 Something Beginning with L (which is Lightbulb, of course!)

and Water cooler Wednesday where it’s #WWC158 Helen’s Masculine Anything Goes challenge

And the haiku:

Look on the bright side
Be confident in yourself
And let your light shine

The Power of Words

This is a real experiment. Rather than having the haiku accompany or be inside of the card, I thought I’d make it the focal point. So this is all doodle script…

live a lively life

I took my challenge from the Words have Power/take Centre Stage at AAA cards (CAS Game #93)

I also realised that as a haiku has three lines, that the sketch #228 at CAS(E) This Sketch would be perfect for this purpose, so I used that 🙂

In case you can’t read the haiku, here it is – aimed at every busy person!

Live a lively life:
Let difficulties pass by.
Go follow your dreams.

I will probably try this again, and hopefully my skill will improve!

Last one for this weekend. I’ve had such fun!

This is a watercoloured background with zendoodled dolphins.

This one is for AAA cards #84 Watercolour challenge

And I still believe it’s CAS – white space doesn’t have to be white… just minimal.

and  Cards4Guyz #158 Underwater

Yes, I love to swim
In another life I’d be
A joyful dolphin!

Zendoodle Wheels

This zendoodled vintage car was such fun to do!

It’s entered for the Male Room challenge #54 Wheels

and Watercooler Wednesday WWC107 Masculine Anything Goes Challenge

I’m looking forward to giving this one to a car-mad friend.

Speed may be modern
But slow and steady may win:
Venerable age

Zendoodle rollerskate

This card is another in my zendoodle series. Possibly those who liked the Red Heart will appreciate this one. It’s a goodbye card for a colleague and reflects one of her interests. I used pictures from the Internet to create my own outline for the zendoodling.

I’m really delighted that Red Heart was one of the Top 5 featured by Muse and an honourable mention for Watercooler Wednesday. So glad people liked it, especially in such inspirational company! Hope the recipient of the card will like it next month 🙂

And my Triple Mat Nautical card was featured on Cards4Guyz. Shame more people didn’t take up the challenge there – I thought the Design Team’s example cards were excellent and really inspired me to try a new style. Thank you for that, ladies 🙂

And a haiku inspired by Roger McGough’s in the Radio Times.

My proud snowman, now
the only snow on the lawn
gone til next winter…
