This card is doodled and watercoloured for someone loved. Valentine, anniversary, birthday. I love those cards which have birds on a wire but I don’t have a suitable stamp, so hearts seemed a suitable replacement.

The colours are taken from Color Throwdown so I’d like to enter it in that challenge ctd426

And also entered in CAS on Sunday challenge 100: Hearts
Just know I love you
I give my heart freely: as

I’ve been wanting to revisit this old Stampin’ Up stamp for this Christmas, so the new sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #201 got me reaching for it straightaway.

So entering:

Sorry the haiku turned out a bit sad. I expect I’m not the only one feeling it this year though. It’s been a funny old year! The card is jolly enough I hope!
This year I want none.

I wanted to try a naive doodling theme for Christmas, and this is the first one I liked. I wanted it to be a single layer, but it didn’t look quite right, so there’s a bit of matting going on to frame it a little more.

This one is entered for Less Is More #305 Primary Colours

This is my new(ish) delicate branches stamp and favourite colours of turquoise and purple. The turquoise ink had dried out a bit: too much to stand up next to the strong purple (violet) ink as I originally intended, So I experimented with creating patterns in it with the stamp and stamping as a block. I like the background it creates though it’s slightly larger than I originally intended, working from the CAS(E) sketch.
Let’s call this a creative take on the CAS(E) this sketch #200th challenge.

I love the turquoise/aqua and purple combinations of colours. This one is for the Color Throwdown challenge #421 which includes aqua & purple as well as green. The ribbon is much closer to the green of the challenge in real life though it looks sort of beigy in the photo here… And it’s my favourite agapanthus again. At least I’m getting lots of use out of it!
I’ve been trying to buy some other stamps, but it seems that whenever I find the one I want it’s either out of stock or the shop has closed for a few weeks…

Colours that please me:
easy on the eye and mind.
Inspiration too….

I’ve been wanting to try a simple candle card for a while, too, and along came CAS-ology’s Candle challenge (Week 226)
Mostly watercolour again, including the candles, with just the sentiment added. It’s a design that could also be used for birthdays… but I need Christmas cards!

The year hastens to
its close: quiet or shouty?
Glad to end this year!

I’ve had the idea for this card for a while and couldn’t get it to work, but the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays caused me to look at it again. A watercoloured background has been punched into snowflakes on hexagons, with the addition of gems and the roughly cut glitter paper. Intended to have a rustic look but still CAS.

Entered in CAS-ual Fridays (even though there’s no stamping on it…)

Really delighted my Argon card won The Male Room Science Challenge
It’s so nice that there are other science nerds out there – and shows that you can be scientific and creative (of course scientists are creative as well as methodical – it’s how all those discoveries are made!).
I even got scientific with the design, getting out my compass to create the circles for the atom image 🙂 Which is a great discovery because I’ll use that again, so thanks again to The Male Room for this challenge (and for choosing mine as the winner). (It’s also a little ironic that we have more female scientists than male scientists in this family!)
