Sea-themed wine glass charms

Two sets of sea-themed wine glass charms. To be sold in aid of charity this weekend.

Set of sea themed wine glass charms with different coours of beads and charms: anchor, starfish, shell, fin, boat, seahorse

The sea enfolds me
Silken waves and salty smells
Here, I’m truly free!

Starfish charms

A lovely set of starfish wine glass charms. Some of these went to the wedding and others will make up part of nautical themed sets.

Wine glass charms

I’ve just finished making a large number of wine glass charms for a family wedding. They were given as favours to the guests. Some were very customised, and others more general, though wedding and love themed!

They were very well received.

Thinking of you

One of my favourite types of card to make – thinking of you. There are so many occasions when these can be appropriate.

With much love and affection
Despite the distance

Blue Christmas

No, I’m not depressed, I just like blue. So this Christmas set (my favourite for this year) was based around blue and grey, with one extra feature colour in each. I think the coral red was my favourite… Even though Christmas trees aren’t actually blue..

Christmas watercolour trees

The trees were a free magazine Christmas tree stamp used with a variety of colours of Distress Oxide Ink which was then loosely coloured in and dragged with a paintbrush for the watercolour effect.

This card was inspired by my new curtains, which I like to think of as semi-abstract winter trees. Really pleased with them after 30 years of re-using in our bedroom the curtains designed (4 years previously to that) for our lounge in the previous house!

Villa Nova Norrland Indigo

This is entered into The Male Room challenge: BLUE I think this design would work well for male cards of all occasions 🙂

and CAS on Friday who are still asking for Christmas cards, bless them 🙂

Blue, a cold colour,
Unlike my heart which is warm
Blue for happiness…

Christmas Joy

I’ve been working on a few Christmas cards but this is the first I’ve finished. It’s based on the sketch at Freshly made sketches and uses my favourite sponged and sprinkled Distress Oxides Fossilised Amber, Wild Honey and Abandoned Coral, washi tape and a ribbon. The stamps Joy and the pine branch were free with Christmas magazines!

Entered in Freshly made sketches #FMS363  and CAS on Friday who want washi tape #146.

Special birthday

This is a birthday card for a special young friend on her 18th.

Having masked an area with post-it notes, I sponged on my favourite distress oxide inks Fossilised Amber, Wild Honey and added Cracked Pistachio and sprinkled on water. I stamped the Uniko script, and  a few butterflies and feathers from a mix of sets in the same colours, and added Nuvo drops. Then the big sentiment from Uniko and a set free from a magazine for the numbers.

I think this suits the challenge for a big bold sentiment from Just Add Ink #434

Piano accordion

This card was made for a special birthday for a friend who plays the piano accordion. I made it on the day of her birthday celebration, so it went straight to her and she loved it 🙂

I used glittered card and honeycomb paper I’ve had for years and not touched… Also a gold peeloff Happy Birthday: I drew the keyboard and bass button elements on my computer. The card fits nicely in an envelope and the message was written on the back of the keyboard section.

is cheerful and young…

Baby boy

Well, I needed a baby boy card, and the Fusion inspiration picture made me think about letters…  Not pink like the Fusion pic though, but, of course, blue!

This stamp was attached to a mag I bought the other week. I thought it was perfect for a baby boy. The carriage was too small to fit the name in, so I did a bit of masking to make it twice the size.  Added the letters and the frame by hand to match: coloured with watercolour pencils.

Apologies for the terrible photography. I’ve barely had any time at all. I work in a University and this is the busiest time of year for me… Phew!  Work, eat, sleep is about it…

Entered for the Fusion challenge this week.

Your sweet little face
Scrunched up, peering at the world
Welcome, little one!

Grey and yellow

I needed another sympathy card. In this case I decided to use Thinking of You. It’s Kraft card on which I brushed a white watercolour wash, dried, stamped a blossom branch in grey Distress Oxide (a bit too light grey I think, but I don’t really have a darker grey).  Then I painted in the yellow flowers. Finished with Uniko sentiment.

This is the Colour Throwdown colours for this week so is entered into Color Throwdown Countdown #501

Also a simple watercoloured background for Just Us Girls #449 – Trend Week

and having added a Thinking of You sentiment, Just Add Ink #417…Just Add “T”

Haiku:

Sending you my love
