This card is for my sister. Just because 🙂

Uniko Originally Organic stamp (new to me, so fun to try out) and printed sentiment. It’s coloured with my watercolour pens: though the choice for magenta wasn’t brilliant, either too pink or too purple. This was nearest.

Christmas in April

As it’s the last day of April I don’t think I’ll need this post title again! It’s good to get started on the Christmas cards. I always leave them too late. If there’s one thing the last two years have taught me, it’s that you never know what’s round the corner and it’s always good to be a little ahead. So all-year-round Christmas challenges are a great reminder! Here’s a Kraft card with a jolly Scandinavian jumper from Washi tape.

Time flies with butterflies

Two cards today. Very similar colours as I notice that three of the colour challenges have two of the same colours in…(calypso coral and pool party).

There’s a lot more to this first card than I normally do – with a few techniques. Heidi Swapp clock stamps (one of my long-time favourites) plus L’Aquarelle sentiment: butterflies punched out of paint swatch cards (I caught the skin of a finger in the punch – ouch!) and Distress Inked background with water dripped on for a touch of texture. Oh, and the background is a stencil from my very old stash (from Club Scrap).

The second card is mostly stamping with L’Aquarelle, using watercolour pens.

This is for the Hand-Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge #261 with smoky slate grey as well as coral and pool party. The grey is a lot paler in real life than in the pic (it’s been an unhelpful day for taking pictures)

No time for a haiku as we’re playing board games now the kids are home for Easter….

Sleepy Bunny

I had to get this sweet Uniko stamp as it so reminded me of the cuddly toy my niece loved when she was younger. It was once even the subject of a Twitter hashtag when it was lost on a train… She’s 19 soon, but she’s getting this nostalgic card with SleepyBunny in her favourite colour, yellow. I hope she likes it!

A helicopter ride

This card is to accompany a helicopter ride voucher for a very special birthday. Every little boy’s dream I should think (and plenty of grown-ups’ too!)

It’s stamped with Up in the Air in black on white and then fussy cut and mounted with dimensionals over a “sky” blue background. Apologies for the dim picture – I had to take it in the evening.

Spring flowers

I decided to try a spring card. Painted six different Uniko flowers and of course the best one screwed up when I tried to trim it… This is the next best. Got my eye on some Uniko stamps when they come back into stock. This is inspired by the sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches – a bit loosely interpreted because of my flower size.
