When the ambulance came I went with Andy. He was beginning to talk by the time we got to the hospital, but they kept him in overnight.
It wasn't as quick as it sounds, though. It took AGES! One minute you're walking to the pub minding your own business and then it's hours in Casualty waiting to be seen. It was a busy night. Andy was on a trolley in the corridor and I was trying to hold his hand, but every time someone came past I had to flatten myself against the wall. It's pretty traumatic. I wish I could sue those thugs for the time and upset it cost me. Let alone what it cost Andy he had concussion.
I was really delighted to hear they'd been arrested.
I had to persuade Andy really hard to press charges. He didn't want to be bothered. Well, I want my day in court to say what I think of those thugs. It's only right. So Andy agreed in the end.
