Pilgrim

I decided to go on a journey, a physical journey, to match the spiritual one I intended. I gave up my job, rented out my flat and I left my country. I went east, with a feeling that there were truths to be found in that direction that the West had lost in its striving for success and power.

I questioned those I met. Is there a holy man or woman I can talk to? Can you tell me what you see as the truth?

I was in need of a mentor, someone who could help me make sense of the ideas that I was getting from different people. I needed someone to guide me through the many ways of seeking enlightenment.

I still thought that what I could find out would only be good and true and beautiful. I did not know, then, that there was a darker side to man's spirit.
